Lalbagh fort was the fort of Aurangabad. It was built in
1678. Prince Muhammad Azam was strat construction of the fort in 1678 ad,
during his 15 month long vice-royalty of Bengal. But before he complete the
work he was recalled by Aurangzeb. His successor, Shaista khan did not continue
the work, though he stayed in Dhaka up to 1688. In 1684 his daughter Bibi pari
died here in 1684.
