Khagrachari is one the 64
Districts of Bangladesh. It is
situated in the south-eastern part of the country Bangladesh.
Local name of this district is Chengmi. It is also known as Phalang Htaung or
the Mong Circle. This is only the place where Mong Tribal communities are
established and this is their birth place. These Mong communities have the
chief and this chief has been residing Khagrachari since long
and that is why now Khagrachari is the home
place of Mong Chief. This Mong communities respect their Chief as 2nd God and
so they call the chief as King or Raja. In Bengali this chengmi is called as Khagrachari
and this is the official name of this place.
This place is the combination of plane land and hill lands.
Natural scenarios of this place is very much attractive to its tourists. Now a
days in the winter season visitors come to visit Khagrachari
and the percentage of visitors have been increasing day by day for its natural

Khagrachari is also called the valley
of the country. There are three rivers located in the Khagrachari
valley which are called as Chengi, Kasalong and Maini. Out of these three Chengi
river is the longest one.Jume cultivation is the main profession of the
residences of Khagrachari and they
have been practicing such kind of cultivation since long.

depends on your place from where you want to start for Khagrachari.
There are two ways to reach Khagrachari. One is from Dhaka or
another is from Chittagong. From Dhaka to Kagrachari via
Baroiar Hat non stop buses are available. From different corner of Dhaka
you can get in bus for Khagrachari trips. Other option is train up to Chittagong.
Then from Chittagong Oxygen moor Khagrachari non stop buses are
available for all. Last time is before 6pm a day when buses are available for Khagarachari.
Khagrachari is 112 km long drive from Chittagong which takes 5-6
hours journey.
