Jessore is the first district of undivided Bengal . It was
established in 1786 as a part of the oldest Samotat . Geographically, it is at
the South-western zone of Bangladesh . Jessore district is located at 88 O -40’
to 89 O -50’ E and 22 O - 47’ to 23 O - 47’ N . Bengali word “ Jasho “ and “
hore “ means “ Gourob hani “ in Bengali language , which turns this present
